If you have other Ubuntu machines, can't your machine boot from the
network, and install from there, from one of your existing/working
Ubuntu boxes ?
That goes way beyond my limited skills, but I gathered that this kind of
stuff is possible, mainly used by system adminitators when remotely
installing boxes, or even automating it.
Again, other people will be able to give more/proper advise about this
kind of stuff...
