Gettting xcompmgr working with the xorg-fglrx driver for ATI cards

Hi,

I have an Acer laptop which uses the ATI 9700 mobility card. It works
great for 2d and most 3d use. However I cannot get Compositing working
with it.

When i run xcompmgr from bash, it returns 'No damage extension'.

I can get it working with the normal radeon driver (ati) but its not
worth the performance hit. Anyone else has it working or got a fix for
it?
