This is going to be short and sweet.
Gnome is stable and nicely polished... KDE is lots of eye candy, very
tweakable, however it's slightly unstable.
Personally, I prefer KDE because of it's tweability.
Look at it this way, Gnome is like a volvo...plain and kinda ugly, but stable
and safe....:P yes yes, feel free to flame me :P
