Gnome or KDE?

Hi all

Ubuntu is my first linux try, since a week ago. I'm very happy with
it, after being able to resolve some little problems with the help of
this list (in sprecial, wifi). My question now is about desktop. I'm
using gnome, but i don't know and i haven't seen other desktops
running "in the wild", i.e. KDE.

I need your advise, pros and cons of both... Can i install KDE in my
system (hoary) just to take a look at it? Will i be able to uninstall
it later if i decide to come back to gnome? Why do you use the desktop
you use?
