I have a similar mouse freezing problem with Hoary on my Inspiron 8100.
Will try the fix mentioned.  I also have a problem with the laptop lid,
the screen goes blank when i close and open the lid.. didnt have this
problem with warty.  Have scanned the forums but could'nt find the
right solution. Will be greatful if anybody can point me in the right
direction   :)
