Quoting Matt Zimmerman <mdz at ubuntu.com>:
I installed nVidia driver following instructions from this page (Warty version).
I updated Warty to Hoary later and got an excellent graphics on both systems.
My computer has:
AMD64 processor,
nVidia geForceFX 5700 video,
Samsung SyncMaster 913N LCD monitor
You should check refresh rates once your driver settings are correct. Look for
your monitor data on WEB and reconfigure X-server and do it fast: it is
possible to damage monitor working on unsuported refresh rate.
