Network problems

One friend of mine had installed hoary from the release of this month.
The system its working ok, but it has a problem. When he installed the
system, ubuntu updated itself and then when he wanted to browse the it
couldnt.

The ethernet gets the ip via dhcp without problems and the dns, but when
you try to do a ping or browse the web via mozilla-firefox you cant. He
has proved the different nets and always the same behevier.

Any idea?

Por favor, NO utilice formatos de archivo propietarios para el
intercambio de documentos, como DOC y XLS, sino HTML, RTF, TXT, CSV 
o cualquier otro que no obligue a utilizar un programa de un 
fabricante concreto para tratar la información contenida en él.
