I was comparing them more from the sheer usability point of view.
I've tried Suse 9.2 and Mandrake 10.2 and I have to say that I've really
gone off rpm based distros. Ubuntu is just SO slick by comparison.
I used to think that distro's that offered half a dozen window managers
were quite cool but Ubuntu has relieved me of that opinion.

But yes, I see your point about 18 months being a long time in Linux.
