Ta I'll give this a go.
When I get Xorg back to normal. I played with the dual head stuff,
didn't like the default mode (rightof I suppose). Did a dpkg-reconfigure
xorg-xserver and now everytime I boot into X, the external monitor is
stuck in 640x480 virtual window into the "real" 1280x1024 screen. If I
open the laptop lid, it is displaying the true full screen window but no
matter what I can't get the external monitor back.
I've run dpkg-reconf a few times, I've cold booted with the lid closed,
open, forced the monitor to external (Fn-F4) then cold booted, so far
nothing works. Annoying as I had a good display before I messed with
it :-).
