If GPL-based OS's like Ubuntu achive world domination, then the world
will be dominated by a product that gives you, the user, the choice.
So, the world will be dominated by freedom of choice.
Is that not what we all want?
People seem to think that world domination is always a bad thing,
because the term is normally used by the evil overlord in a Sci-Fi of
action film, but we have many forms of positive world domination
around us.
Take for instance shopping. The world of shopping is dominated by
supermarkets. Why? Because the supermarket gives the user the choice
between many products. The consumer is free to choose between many
different products and supermarkets.
If the world were dominated by the old type general store, you would
be at the mercy of what the owner thought a good product were.
