horay installer hang on hotplug after reboot.

hi, posting this for a freind:

he si trying to install horay (final, thoguh this did happen in a 
preview release/rc also). the install goes fine and then the first 
reboot occurs. everything goes fine and normal untill it gets to 
hotplug, at which point the system hangs and just sits tehre, forever. 
he has tried things such as disconnecting his bluetooth stuff, external 
HD, etc, so that just the monitor and keyboard were attached.

computer is dell demension 4500s, with a radeon video card in it. it has 
onboard intel video, which cannot be disabled via the bios.

has anyone had similar problems, or have any ideas on resolving this?
