I tried Netbeans, JBuilder, Eclipse and Idea.
I think Eclipse is the one with the most fueatures,
maybe to much of them.
But its free of charge.
You need a modern computer to use it.
And if you want to use a "gui-editor" like VE
with it you need a very modern computer.

Jbuilder ran fine on every other Distro,
but scince i use Ubuntu i changed my processor
from an i686 to an amd64 and i cant get
JBuilder going on it, which is a real pity.

JBuilder is free too in its Personal Version.
But i think it doesnt handle the ActionListener
understandable.
It comes with a "gui-editor" which isnt bad.

Netbeans has one too, but i only tried an older
version, so i cant say much to it.

IntelliJ is very cool too, but it isnt free.

At least i would say try Eclipse, its a very
good product.
