Upgrading using CD

Hello,

I am running Ubuntu 4.10 and I would like to upgrade it to 5.04.
My net speed is very slow (32 Kbps).But I have a copy of the new 5.04
CD. Is there a way to upgrade modifing the apt source, pointing to the
CD? But, after the upgrade, I would like to point back to the net
since I want to have an up to date system.
Is there a safe way to make this update?
