Mythtv in Ubuntu's future?

I have it fully functional on my system with the exception of a working
remote control.  

Here's my hardware:

AMD Sempron 2400+
512MB RAM
nVidia MX440 (tv-out)
Hauppauge PVR-250 (awesome card with hardware Mpeg-2 encoder)
older Soundblaster card
older RCA DirecTV with low-speed data port for changing channels.

I installed Ubuntu 5.04 over the weekend.  mythtv deb packages from
were easy to install; however multiverse has mythtv 0.16.  0.17 is now
available in source from mythtv.org.  And, I'm pretty sure that the
multiverse packages do not have the lirc (remote control) support.

If anyone has lirc working on Ubuntu 5.04 with a Hauppauge remote,
please let me know.

Please e-mail or post questions here if you are having issues with the
above hardware.  Chances are I did too.  :-)
