Swap problems

Hi folks,
my two machines that I've down synaptic updates on seem to have lost
their swap partitions.
When I run sudo swapon -a I get " swapon: /dev/hda6: Invalid argument".
hda6 is what's in my fstab file and what I set up on original install.

Any help appreciated as I'm not sure what to do here.
