Hi, everybody,

On my server-pc I configured a printer using cups, which is working.

I would like to install this printer also as a network-printer on my
laptop-client.

If I use the configuration-app within KDE on my laptop, it tells me, that it
cannot connect to server-pc on port 631

Under gnome, I'm able to configure a new printer

 ipp://name-of-my-server-pc:631/ipp/printer/printername

but I am not able to print the testpage.

1st question:

What is going wrong? Obviously my mistake(s)?
Any idea, how to solve my problem?
Because I am a little bit confused now, I would like to get a tipp from you,
where to start reading infos concerning to my problem.

2nd question - but not really urgent ;-)

Do you know, why it is not possible to use the browser interface on

   localhost:631

as I did it in the past, for example on mandrake?

Thxs 4 your help!

Hagen
