Wireless losing connection in Hoary

Hey all-
Joined the list a couple weeks ago, seen a lot of great stuff. I am
currently running K/Ubuntu on a Sony Vaio A170 laptop. Under Warty, the
Intel Wireless adapter that's onboard worked perfectly. Under Hoary, it
works, but at some point it just flat out stops working.
Here's what I've done so far (after the Hoary upgrade):
-checked to make sure something wasn't powering down the adapter to save
power
-manually configured the wireless adapter, setting up a configuration to
attach to my access point by default
I've verified with other systems that the wireless access point is
working as it should. Only Hoary seems to lose connection, and then is
unable to re-estblish it. I can scan for networks, find those in range,
but it will not connect.
I did notice in the KDE Control Center a section under "System
Administration" called "Sony Vaio Laptop." In that panel it reads
"Cannot find the Sony Programmable Interrupt Controller. If this is a
Sony Vaio laptop, make sure the sonypi driver module loads without
failures."
Could this be the direction I need to look? Is it possible that the lack
of that driver module is causing issues with the wireless adapter?
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Adam
