How to restart PPoE internet connection ??

hmm a newbie here and seems i have a lil problem
i tried doing the sudo pppoeconf, then i go through the whole setup
process but after that i cant seem to be able to connect to internet..
well I was able to do it once but after i restarted my pc *poof* it
wont connect.. >.<
wierd thing is i can see my public IP, dns servers after typing
"ifconfig ppp0" but cant seem to ping any site.. any help or
suggestions?
