Thanks mate. That seemed to do the trick.

Question is, why did it only happen when I stuck the au in front of
the ubuntu repositories? There were duplicates before.

Should there be an additional comment in the sources.list when
uncommenting universe you should comment out the previous line, an
either or thing?

This is what I have now:
