Hi all,
a friend of mine has seen my machine running with Ubuntu Warty, and was
impressed
and has asked me to install it on his old 166, with 64 meg edo ram.
2.2gig drive.
Have done it on my 166, 2 gig drive, and it is extemely slow, so I was
going to install
using "custom" at initial install.
He does not have internet access, so I won't be able to use apt-get to
install anything,
I think I have seen on this list that it's possible to write the
applications to a CD from
repositories, and apt-get install from CD. Is this possible? If so how
could I do it,
without getting too technical. The brain is getting old and slowing down,
If its possible what would the line needed to be added to the
/etc/apt/sources list look like?
All that would be needed would be
Icewm
Gimp
Abiword
Firefox and Thunderbird
W32codecs and Xine
Many thanks in advance
Take Care
Winton
