Question Regarding Sound using Hoary and Kubuntu

I personally think it is a problem with modules conflicting. I posted
this as a potential bug and did as suggested with no results.

  So you do have the modem driver installed.
  
  Please do:
  
  /etc/init.d/alsa force-unload
  modprobe snd_intel8x0
  
  and make sure snd_intel8x0m is not loaded.
  
  Does this change the behavior you reported?
