[the below didn't show up after several hours. apologies if it
double-posts]

hey there,

can someone explain to me how ubuntu manages the automatic mounting of
removable devices like usb flash drives, cameras, pdas, etc? I am
trying to get udev working on a vanilla debian sid install and would like
to have automounting set up -- ubuntu seems to do this beautifully,
but I don't have a working system on hand right now.

Even better would be to have a slightly mor complex scripte -- e.g.,
when my cmaera is loaded and recognized, it not only automatically
mounts on /mnt/camera but also calls some script that maybe copies any
new photos to a partiular directory or something.

So if you could point me to some docs that'd be great too!

thanks,

matt
