Thanks.  Things are becoming clearer.  How does one tell that the ABI
has changed?  A change in which number? I have  2.6.8.1-16.11 and
2.6.8.1-16.12 is available.  Presumably this is not an ABI change.  Is
it any change before the hyphen but not after it?

Also, although the module might still work with an updated (non-
ABI change) kernel, would I still need to re-install it?
