Well I've narrowed this down to a firmware loading system.
The device requires a 2 step intialization, where it first load and
ezusb firmware, disconnects from the system and shows up as a second
device requiring a 2nd firimware.
The first step seems to be working fine, but second firmware fails to
load. I enabled the debug option in the file
/etc/hotplug.d/default/default.hotplug and see the following messages
maybe someone can see something I don't and point me in a good
direction.
