The only Linux driver for the Realtek 8180 chipset only works under
certain versions of kernel 2.4. There are currently efforts to produce a
more usable driver - with a bit of luck there'll be some that work by
the next release of Ubuntu. At the moment your only real bet is to take
a look into ndiswrapper, which allows you to use the Windows driver.
