Call for testers: Windows boot problems after installing Ubuntu

Hello world,

We're looking for testers to confirm a fix to bug #1566. This is a
problem that various people have reported: after installing Ubuntu in a
dual-boot configuration, the Windows installation on the same disk no
longer boots. This is of course a serious bug that we'd like to fix
before we release the final version of Warty.

I'd like volunteers to try out the CD image here:

  http://people.ubuntulinux.org/~cjwatson/warty-i386-new-parted.iso

This contains a patch to parted that probes the disk for Microsoft
filesystems and makes sure that its C/H/S geometry handling cooperates
with them. If we get sufficient dual-boot success reports with this
image, then we'll apply the change to Warty.

For information on how to recover an already-broken installation, follow
the directions here:

  http://lwn.net/Articles/86835/

If you can construct a situation where you can install Ubuntu, find that
Windows doesn't boot, apply the fix posted on LWN above, and repeat this
process as many times as you want, then you are an ideal candidate for
trying out the patched CD image above. Even if not, though, your
feedback will be useful.

Thanks,
