Adding to the Menu

Hi,

Installed Ubuntu last night - very easy once I remembered to mark my / partition
bootable!

I've installed GNUCash (apt-get install gnucash) and added a launcher to the
panel.  However, I'd also love to have an entry under Applications->Office. 
I've opened nautilus to applications:/// and right-clicked->Create Launcher,
however after clicking 'OK' there's no new launcher in the menu.

How do I go about adding entries to the menu?
