If the hostname is set by DHCP or the IP address you get from DHCP
reverse-lookups in DNS to a hostname, that question will have its answer
pre-seeded.

Any GUI installer will have a significantly redesigned partitioning
tool, I would imagine; but yes, this seems like an entirely sensible
feature to keep from the current partman.

Right, this is a Hoary goal.

Just thinking out loud, we might well do it task-style, which means that
you could install new languages with a single aptitude command or fairly
easily in the UI.
