Problem with automounter

I've seen this bug in Fedora Core as well.  I wonder if this is part of the
reason why they're moving away from fam.

I "fix" it by killing fam, unmounting and/or ejecting the device, and living 
with manual Nautilus refreshes.  It's a pain, but it appears to let me do 
things with removable media.
