sound... ??

Hello again..

sounds like it's gonna be one of those days..
While I actually have sound, my sound volume applet is indicating the following
when I try to open the 'Volume Control'. Hence, I have to turn up/down the
volume at my speakers directly.

When I click on Preferences, the list is not being populated.

fblaise is in the audio group.

It worked before, it just quit. I don't recall doing anything with sound, since
it was working just fine. Any ideas?
