I compiled a driver for my lucent winmodem (ltmodem-2.6-alk4) and installed wvdial and gkdial. Wvdial can query my modem OK but when I try to dial with gkdial I get a message saying kernel missing ppp support, is this true? Also when I create a symbolic link from /dev/ttyLT0 to /dev/modem it seems to disappear when I restart. Bill
