offering a localized support platform (ml, translated portal etc.)
lowers
the entry threshold...
even if you and i speak english well enough to come through here, there
are a lot people out there only speaking their native tongue.
i think ubuntu is the right approach, the fist step towards "dektop
linux world domination" ;-) and it deserves to reach these users too.
the reason SuSE is the biggest distribution in germany is surely not
based on the fact that you have to do a complete reinstall ever second
dist-upgrade because too many things are broken. if i remember my early
linux days, the german suse support database was one of my most
frequently used sites, tho i was a debian user nearly from the beginning
(at work as well as at home).
i don't think this is of high proirity, but if the first ubuntu add on
cd to the <add mother tongue here> LinuxMagazin will come out (which
surely once will be the case ) it would be nice to have a <add mother
tongue here> mailing list and at least a translated wiki/faq.
;-)
ciao
