Installation of Ubuntu Linux has been a piece of cake, excluding one issue; during install, a dialog box states: Eth0 Does not seem to be connected to any sort of network... use Etherconf utility... or statically...

I wiped out a successful networking Libranet installation(should have dual booted) to install Ubuntu and Knoppix has no problem getting online, hence this email. Two installations and many Auto(DHCP) and Manual configurations with the network configure tool have not helped. That's about the limit of my experience.

I like what I see so far, I wanted to simplify life with a simpler distro and have the 2.6 kernel for some of its support for newer hardware.
