Single-click resulting in double-click

I just ran from the command-line
sudo dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86
and selected the /dev/input/mice option for mouse, instead of the 
default /dev/psaux ... seems to have sorted out my occasional 
double-strike issues.
