howto configure serial mouse..?

At the shell, as root, run

dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86

Select the default for all of the questions until it asks about the
mouse. Choose /dev/ttyS0 or /dev/ttyS1 depending on which serial port
the mouse is plugged into, and then for the protocol choose Microsoft.
Select the defaults for any other questions it asks you, and then
restart X. If that doesn't work, you may need to choose a different
protocol.
