Why I can not watch every SVCD?

Hello,

after installing a bunch of codecs which are detected by totem-xine I 
can not watch every SVCD.
I don't know what I should do to get it to work.
I think SVCDs support is included by xine without any codec. At least 
the xine homepage tells that...
I've tested the medium in Windows with PowerDVD and there is no problem.
PowerDVD says it is a MPEG2 video codec and MPEG2.0 audio codec.
Why this totem-xine thing doesn't run it as VCD source or as mpg-file 
source?
If I press the start button totem tries to read the CD but I get  a 
message dialog that although a plugin is installed totem could not play 
the medium.
With --debug it warns that
WARN: TRACKS.SVD filesize != 2048!

The specific tracks.svd is only 15 bytes small. So maybe it is not SVCD 
standard. I don't know.
But at least the *.mpg file in mpeg2 subdir should be played, shouldn't it?

This is the --debug output if I want to play the *.mpg file. Do you have 
any information what I could try?
