right kernel-image for pentium M

Hi guys!

I have a centrino notebook with a pentium M, and the ubuntu installer
installed the kernel-image-386, but it seems to me that a pentium M is
a 686 style processor, and that the 686 kernel should be installed
instead. Or does the 686 kernel contain stuff that the pentium m
doesnt support?

Btw: is there a changelog for the ubuntu kernel available somewhere,
or a list of patches it contains?

regards
 chris
