I wiped it entirely out, and reinstalled from the cd. no idea why, it
it just seemed like a good idea at the time. :)

I edited it to use ALSA, but that didn't work, now I'm getting an alsa
version of the error message. I noticed when I came home from school
today, that Gnome-Alsamixer, gstreamer-alsa, and libgstreamer0.6.-0 were
all listed as "installed (obsolete)". Sould I go ahead and uninstall
them?
