The one button mouse

Is there a way to emulate a 2 or 3 button mouse in Gnome by holding down 
a modifier key on the keyboard? Alternately, it would be pretty cool if 
right-click had the ability to be emulated by holding down the mouse 
button (ala- MacOS). I realize the one button mouse is apple-specific 
and can be replaced, but it would be cool to make the OS as flexible as 
possible in catering to the needs of everyone.
