snd_intel8x0 and parport

My sound card wouldn't work with the error:

ICH3M: IDE controller at PCI slot 0000:00:1f.1
ICH3M: chipset revision 2
ICH3M: not 100% native mode: will probe irqs later
Intel ICH: probe of 0000:00:1f.5 failed with error -16

I was told I had to remove the lp, parport_pc and parport modules, and
this did the trick.  The problem is, I stopped the lp modules from
loading at boot, but the parport_pc and parport modules still load.  How
can I disable these modules from loading at boot time.
