I don't know, but I do can say that there a lot of ppc Ubuntu
developers :-), that's why it is supported very well.

In general its very easy; a standard installation on my iBook G4 has
only very few things that do not work right out of the box (e. g. Alt
and Command are swapped at the text consoles).

The only difficult thing will be the partitioning, if you never
partitioned Linux on a ppc before. You have to pay attention to get
this "bootstrap" partition right. But usually it should be created
automatically (if you use the whole disk) or should already be present
(if MacOS is installed and there's still room for Ubuntu partitions).

Please try that and ask on IRC or by mail if you have problems.

Ugh. Asking a friend and sending a CD with snail mail might be faster
and cheaper :-)
