Well, for me it's always been a good fallback utility - it works when
nothing else does.  And now that I know that I have to use
dev=/dev/cdrom or whatever, instead of dev=0,0,0 , I'm a happy camper
again, and I'd like to thank you for your help!  Is my ATAPI cd/dvd
burner no longer thought of as SCSI because of udev, or some other
reason?

I've used the nautilus burning facility, but don't care for the
interface.  Still, others, like my brother, prefer it for its
simplicity.  For me, it's not real obvious, for example, that when I
right click on an iso and burn it, that it's gonna burn an image, not
copy the iso to the cd.
