Wireless network profiles

Thanks again for your replies. in /etc/network/interfaces I have:

# The loopback network interface
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

# This is a list of hotpluggable network interfaces.
# They will be activated automatically by the hotplug subsystem.
mapping hotplug
	script grep
	map eth1

# The primary network interface
iface eth1 inet dhcp
	# wireless-* options are implemented by the wireless-tools package
	wireless-mode managed
	wireless-essid any
	wireless-key *****************************

Now at the school they tell us the ESSID and the WEP key. How do I know
what mode to set it to? Or am I going to have to specify an ESSID for
the home profile as well as the school profile if I want both to work?
Not sure how to go about this but I may be a bit more mobile on the
weekend and I'll try some options.
