 That may have been why someone was asking about the 2.6.9 kernel build...I
was looking at the changelog and it appears to have added some software
suspend support.

That simple script calls upon ACPI to send your system into standby. The
magical command used is "echo -n mem > /sys/power/state".

Ubuntu Warty doesn't have suspend-to-disk support .There were waaay too many
other issues to deal with, being a first release! Hoary will have support
(most likely). If you want swsusp or pmdisk support, you'll need to
recompile the kernel. Even then, most people have mostly negative results
with hibernation. Unless you have quite a bit of free time, don't try it!
