well i am surprised and happy you ask,
because actually that is exactly what i think :-)
i know there are exceptions and if i just found one, that's great :-)
you see, for fun-loving users, and that might be
about a third of the ones looking for something like ubuntu,
half the computer experience they want is missing in warty.
if legal problems make it impossible to include things,
it would be easy to make a script that guides
through the installation of stuff from other sources,
or at least a simple but complete how-to,
a step by step guide (like a cookbook) to a
more complete system that includes DVD viewing and remixing,
internet radio and tv, and movie playback
including xvid, divx, mpeg4, quicktime and flash,
and some of the best p2p apps available.
you see i very much like encouraging everyone to
switch to all open source computing, like xvid, ogg,
but this can be done better by supporting what is here first.
the legal problems can not explain the lack of
what i describe above.
if i understand it right fun was just not a priority for mark.
but if a team member devoted just one week
on such a facilitation, the user base of ubuntu could explode.
leaving it up to the community just does not cut it :-)
