problem installing/starting apache2

I have just installed apache2, mysql & moy php4.  These were all Ubuntu
packages.  I went into /etc/apache2/apache2.conf and uncommented 

AddType application/x-httpd-php .php

When I tried to start apache I got

 * Starting web server (Apache2)...
(13)Permission denied: make_sock: could not bind to address [::]:80
no listening sockets available, shutting down
 *able to open logs                                        [fail]

Any ideas?
