Boot freezes.

Hi

I hope someone can help me. I installed Ubuntu on a IBM T20 laptop running dual boot with XP and no problems. I then tried installing it on another laptop (P4 - 2,6gHz  512mb RAM - 40gb HDD) but during the first reboot after install, grub stops with...

GRUB load stage1.5.

GRUB loading, please wait...

and thats it. Can anyone help me with this?
