Will there be a boot splash like the one in suse, mandrake?

there is a splash screen and progress bar on the live CD?  I didn't
know that.   I currently have a bug in the bugzilla
(https://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2697) which seems to be
related to a change of graphic mode right after the grub menu on the
Live CD    I wonder if that splash screen is causing problem with my
graphic card and prevent me from correctly booting.  Anyone knows of a
way of switching it off?
