RTFM and STFW answers have been given when people obviously haven't 
attempted to discover the answer themselves but they have normally been 
acompanied by a link to prove the person should have done it themselves.

This is far better than the old school RTFM that has no place in the 
*new* userfriendly linux communities that have been developing over the 
last 5 or 6 years.

I generally include a link to How to ask questions the smart way 
http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html it's better for us to 
educate than punish ;-)
