kernel 2.6.8.1-3-386 ¿how with SMP?

Hi, I'm really new to Ubuntu, and I've just installed in a Pc with two
processors. My question is if I will have to recompile de kernel two
enable SMP or if there is a kernel with SMP yet, for 2.6.8.1-3-386.

If I would have to recompile ¿where are the kernel-osurce? ¿how is the
name of the package? ¿Can I use make-kpkg to do a Debian package of the
kernel?.
